11 Ways To Be More Relaxed 🛀🏾

Life is just stressful no matter how you try to cope with it or not.

There will be days that you get stressed out and it could be over the littlest thing too.

Like someone cutting you off when you are driving (this happens to me often and I lose it sometimes…smh🤦🏾‍♀️).

If you let the pressure build up, you could end up making irrational decisions.

Therefore, it is vital to find ways to reduce your stress levels as you continue on your journey to creating your zen place and a lifestyle filled with more peace.

This is why relaxation is important.

When you are stressed out all the time, that is causes damage not only to your mind but that damage can then trickle down to your body.

Also…

Who has time to be stressed out?

I know I sure don’t and I am pretty sure you don’t!

Below👇🏾 are some 11 ways you can relax and hopefully relieve that stress and tension quickly!

1. Do Some Yoga or Meditate🧘🏾‍♀️

Find a quiet room and do some yoga or meditate for about 10 minutes.

Yoga helps your mind and body to relax and let go of built-up tension in your body.

Yoga is a great full body workout as well.

Meditating is another great way to relax.

A lot of times, when stress builds up, the negative thoughts come.

Meditation helps you to let go of those thoughts and focus on what’s important.

Yoga and meditation are the easiest forms of relaxation you can take with you on the go.

2. Go For A Walk🚶🏾‍♀️

You might opt to go for a walk or a lite run in the park.

This will allow you to enjoy what nature 🌳🌼🌸🌲has to offer.

If you live in a noisy neighborhood find a quiet place to go for a walk if you can.

Take a friend!

This lets you reorganize your thoughts and you get to view things from a clearer point of view.

You also get a nice little workout in too!

3. Listen To Your Favorite Music🎶

Listening to music lets you get loose.

As you listen to your favorite musician, you forget what is troubling you which in turn reduces your stress levels.

A good thing about music is that you can plug in your earphones🎧 and separate yourself from your stressful environment no matter where you are.

Another great place you can listen to music is in the shower.🚿

I am low key a mixture of Mariah Carey and Beyonce when I am in the shower singing and jamming out to my favorite songs!🎤🎶

If you are looking for some relaxing music, 2 of the best kinds are classical music and meditation music.

4. Play Some Video Games🎮/Board Games

Video games or board games are a great way to relieve some stress especially if you are kicking your friend’s butt!

Both video games and board games allow you to escape life just for a little bit and shift your focus to having fun.

5. Watch A Movie 🎥

Watching movies are one of my favorite ways to relax unless its a suspenseful movie then I am stressed out all over again!

They always go into the basement…like why?🤦🏾‍♀️

Watching a movie shifts your focus for a couple of hours which is nice.

Take some time off and watch a movie on Netflix or in a cinema.

Once again, take a friend!

Movies are enjoyable and you can dedicate the weekends to watching movies.

I sure try to.

If movies aren’t your thing, then check out a documentary or 2 and learn something new!

6. Take a Bubble Bath🛁

I LOVE ME SOME BUBBLE BATHS!

Taking a bath (if you can fit in the tub…sigh) is a great way to relax.

When you see those bubbles rise up and feel the warm water on your skin you just want to sink in and stay all day!

This was one of the many reasons why I LOVED Japan! 🇯🇵🍣

They have onsens (bath houses) EVERYWHERE!

I just stayed there all night after a long day of walking around and exploring.

So grab your favorite LUSH product and sink in!

7. Journaling📓✍🏾️

Journaling is another great way to relax.

It allows you to write down EVERYTHING that is stressing you out.

I have a thousand journals (which was not intentional), but I love that I can mind-dump everything that is causing tension in my life there.

My journals are a safe place to get everything off my chest without fear of judgment or ridicule.

They can be a safe place for you too!

8. Hang Out With Friends

My friends just find ways to put a smile on my face!

They are just crazy and super fun to be around.

If your friends are anything like mine then they will be the perfect stress reliever for you.

You and your friends could go on a fun adventure, grab dinner, or just chill.

Spending quality time with them and making great memories is something you can look back on when you are stressed out and hopefully get a chuckle in too.

Gotta love your friends!

9. Talking It Out With Someone🗣

Sometimes, you just gotta talk out whatever it is that’s bothering you.

This could be the ultimate stress reliever!

You can talk to a friend, your parents (God bless my parents for the things I have shared with them…), your brother or sister, a significant other, a therapist.

You can even talk to God.🙏🏾

I sure do!

It doesn’t matter who you talk to as long as you trust them and feel comfortable sharing what it is that is bothering you with them.

10. Hit the Gym💪🏾

The gym helps you to relieve all the mental and muscle tension that has been building up in your body all day.

Your job could be demanding that you stay seated for a long period of time and this is bad for your health.

Weightlifting🏋🏾‍♀️ is a great way to help strengthen those muscles.

Socializing at the gym is another way to relieve stress as you can build friendships there too.

If you are not able to go to the gym, then working out at home can help as well!

11. Travel and See The World ✈️🌏🌴

Visiting new places is one of my favorite stress relievers.

You can take a vacation to get your mind off of the hustle and bustle of life that is currently stressing you out.

The best part about traveling is that you can take your family with you!
