Living in the Present Only!

What does it really mean to live in the present only? It means to enjoy the time you have right now and not focusing on the past or worrying about the future.

There is a saying that says, “Tomorrow never comes.” Tomorrow is only a concept and is always waiting to come around the corner. When you think about it, there really isn’t a tomorrow because when ‘tomorrow’ comes it becomes ‘today’ and when it passes it becomes ‘yesterday’ and this is if it comes…it may not.

Creating Your Zen Place

There are many ways to turn your home (or any place you want) into a zen place. Lets recall quickly what zen is. It is a practice of returning to the self. Returning to the self requires knowing yourself, what you like, and what brings you the most joy. Many zen designs have natural elements in it, but you don’t have to stop there! Your zen place can incorporate anything in it that brings you peace, relaxation, and calm. A place that give you a break from everyday life so you can rejuvenate you mind, body, and spirit.

What Is Zen?

To define zen (禅) is like trying to make a neat conceptual package that only gives part of the picture. Zen is a practice that needs to be experienced rather than intellectualized or understood with the mind. Tentatively defined as “a practice that helps man to unleash his true self through cross-legged sitting (zazen) and to vitalize his/her self in daily life.”

So…what is zen?
