Living longer is about being active and eating the healthiest foods.
The healthier the foods you eat are, the likelier you are to live a healthier life.
Obviously, there are thousands upon thousands of healthy foods out there.
Almost all vegetables🍅 🍆 🥦 🥒 🥬 🌶 🌽 🥕that you may come across is likely healthy, as are the majority of all fruits.🍏 🍎 🍐 🍊 🍋 🍌 🍉 🍇 🍓 🍈 🍒 🍑 🍍 🥭 🥥 🥝
Minus the sugar content so beware.
Natural grains tend to be in the upper pinnacle of healthy eating too.
But what are the healthiest foods to eat?
Those foods that if you eat them regularly you are guaranteed to get the most nutrients from them?
What are the foods that everyone should be eating in order to live a long and healthy life?
Are there any recipes out there that incorporate these healthy foods?
Well, this is the countdown of the healthiest foods to eat.
Try to incorporate these foods into your diet regularly and in moderation.
Starting at #5 is quinoa.

5. Quinoa (Whole Grains)
Whole grains 🍞 🥖are vital for healthy living and quinoa is one of the healthiest of those whole grains.
A rather bland food overall, quinoa is very easy to flavor with items like lemon, garlic, oils, pepper, salt, and other spices that make it taste significantly better.
Quinoa is extremely high in both protein and fiber and is also a good source of iron and magnesium.
I love making a quinoa salad🥗 with avocado,🥑 cucumber,🥒 peppers, and onions.
At #4 are cranberries… well berries🍓in general.
Berries 🍓are another extremely healthy food.
They have a number of antioxidants that are vital for healthy living.
Cranberries are just one of several berries that are extremely high in antioxidants, but all berries have their benefits and should be eaten regularly if possible.
Some other benefits of berries include improving blood sugar and insulin response, high in fiber, helps fights inflammation and are great for your skin.
Berries are also considered nature’s candies since you just can’t get enough of them!
The best part about these nature’s delights is that most berries are low in sugar compared to other fruits like pineapples,🍍 apples,🍏🍎 watermelon,🍉 oranges🍊 , and pears. 🍐
At #3 is spinach or well dark leafy greens in general.
3. Spinach (Dark Leafy Greens)
Greens are a great source of protein, fiber, and calcium. 🥬
Spinach is actually not quite as good as kale and collard greens, but hey leafy greens are leafy greens.
Spinach is more versatile and can be eaten in far more ways than just in a salad.🥗
I love putting a ton of spinach into my smoothies first thing in the morning. ☀️
One of my go-to meals with spinach in it is sautéed mushrooms 🍄 and spinach.
Here is the mini recipe below:
- Chopped mushrooms 🍄(any kind you like. I use either shitake or portabella. Baby portabellas work too)
- 1/2 lb to 1 lb of spinach
- 1-2 chopped or diced bell peppers
- 1/3 diced red onion
- 1/3 diced green onion
- 2 garlic cloves minced (optional) ( I like mine with some garlic)
- Some herbs 🌿 and spices for taste (black pepper, parsley, oregano) (this step is optional since it tastes good without seasoning)
Add everything into a big somewhat deep, rounded pan.
Coat the pan with either coconut oil or olive oil (1 tbsp).
You do not need a lot of oil.
Chop up the mushrooms 🍄, bell peppers, red onion, green onion, garlic and add them into the pan.
Let the flavors mix with each other for about 5 minutes or so.
Then add in the spinach.
I love adding a lot of spinach into this dish especially since it cooks down super fast.
Let the flavors mingle with each other some more until all of the spinach is cooked down.
At this time you can add in those herbs 🌿 and spices.
Once everything is cooked down nicely let is cool for a little bit or enjoy immediately!

Like I stated above, you can add spinach in your smoothies and get the added benefits without even tasting it.
Here is my go-to green smoothie recipe you can try:
- 1/2 mango
- 1/2 banana🍌
- 1 cup of strawberries 🍓
- 1-2 cups of spinach
- Coconut water 🥥💦
- 1 scoop of Yuve Vanilla Bean protein powder
Add everything in the blender.
Blend it up.

As you can see, you can use spinach in a variety of ways.
It makes it so easy for it to be a staple in your cuisine even when you want to mix it up.
At #2 is soy.
Soy is another great healthy food.
It has fiber, vitamins, Omega-3, protein, calcium, almost everything that you could need from a meal is in soy.
It can also be found in almost every different type of food.
For vegetarians, it can be found in soy meats,🍖🍗🥩 soy cheeses,🧀 tofu, and other food items.
It is SUPER IMPORTANT that you get an ORGANIC brand of tofu or soy.
GMOs is not something you want to mess around with!

I eat soy every now and then.
Not too much.
It is a great food item but like anything else, it should be eaten in moderation.

In the #1 spot is…salmon.🐟
The health benefits you get from salmon is the same as soy but on steroids.
Loaded with Omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and other beneficial nutrients, salmon has almost everything that you need all in one grilled, sautéed, or broiled piece of fish.🐟
It is also low in fat and cholesterol, high in the good cholesterol, and is a great addition to anyone’s diet.
I am not really a fish person,🐟 but my family eats salmon at least 1 a week due to the many health benefits it has.
They also love salmon too.

All 5 of these foods are considered some of the healthiest foods in the world, but beyond that, they are also incredibly versatile.
It is not too difficult to get them into your daily diet regularly.
For anyone who wants to improve their overall health and wellness and planning on eating a significantly healthier diet regularly, these foods are a good place to start.
