Life is just stressful no matter how you try to cope with it or not. There will be days that you get stressed out and it could be over the little things too. Like someone cutting you off when you are driving (this happened to me and I almost lost it…smh).

Because of this, I wanted to create another post on more ways to be more relaxed. These are my 7 things you can do to relax. Let’s get into it!

1. Listen To Your Favorite Music

Listening to music lets you get loose. As you listen to your favorite musician, you forget what is troubling you which in turn reduces your stress levels. A good thing about music is that you can plug in your earphones and separate yourself from the stressful environment no matter where you are. Another great place you can listen to music is in the shower. I am low key a mixture of Mariah Carey and Beyonce when I am in the shower singing and jamming out to my favorite songs!

2. Play Video Games/Board Games

Video games or board games are a great way to relieve some stress especially if you are kicking your friend’s butt! Both video games and board games allow you to escape life just for a little bit. To get your mind off of whatever it is that is stressing you out.

3. Watch A Movie

Watching movies are one of my favorite ways to relax unless its a suspenseful movie then I am stressed out all over again! Well, its a different kind of stress os it doesn’t really bother me. Watching a movie shifts your focus for a few hours which is nice. Take some time off and watch a movie on Netflix or in a cinema. Movies are enjoyable and you can dedicate the weekends to watching movies. If you are not a fan of movies, check out a documentary or 2 and learn something new!

4. Taking a Bubble Bath

I LOVE ME SOME BUBBLE BATHS! Taking a bath (if you can fit in the tub) is a great way to relax. When you see those bubbles rise up and feel the warm water on your skin you just want to sink in and stay all day! One of the many reasons why I LOVED Japan! They have onsens (bath houses) EVERYWHERE and I just stayed there all night after a long day of walking around and exploring.

5. Journaling

Journaling is another great way to relax. It allows you to write down EVERYTHING that is stressing you out. I have a thousand journals (which was not intentional), but I love that I can mind dump everything that is causing tension in my life there. My journals are a safe place to get everything off my chest as well.

6. Hanging Out With Friends

Your friends just find ways to put a smile on your face! They are a great stress reliever because they help you get your mind off of what is bothering you at that time. You and your friends could go on a fun adventure, grab dinner, or just chill. Gotta love your friends!

7. Talking It Out With Someone

Sometimes, you just gotta talk out what it is that is bothering you with someone. This could be the ultimate stress reliever! You can talk to a friend, your parents (God bless my parents for the things I have shared with them…), your brother or sister, a significant other, a therapist. It doesn’t matter who you talk to as long as you trust them and feel comfortable sharing what it is that is bothering you.
